Socrates
however, its about beaver dam time something other than a heavy metal band was blamed for a crazy dude picking up a gun and murdering people.
Don't know about Canada, but over here conservatives have been blamed every time since at least 1995 with the Oklahoma City bombing (and even completely non-political killings are blamed on conservatives who support the Second Amendment). And blaming heavy metal is so '90s. Still waiting on those FOX news clips calling for beheadings, dude. Sounds way rad!

I only read them out of pleasure - to gain knowledge of the past and to possibly understand our present and our future. I don't subscribe to radical theories, but it is interesting to gain a little perspective on those who do. liseski
this thread actually looks like it reads - Rep U.s. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Of Arizona Shot by Brother Adam gave me a start.... ok. enough of that. I am also Canadian, but have no desire to bash the USA. I don't find it respectful to discuss US politics with US citizends on US soil (or servers, lol). I can't vote, so I don't get to bash. and books? bring 'em on. all of them. reading is not subversive
AudreyGrace
I'm reading Ethan Frome right now.. other than my physiology text book and Andreuccio da Perugia lol. I got some Augustine and a psychology book at the library today. I have a bus trip to DC coming up so I need to be stocked

That's like saying, "I didn't choose the plantation owner, so I can't complain about him." You, as one who has not inflicted a politician on other people, have the most right to complain. The whole "If you didn't vote, you can't complain" bit is a hellacious fallacy. ~Sternhauser
