[/quote]This young man's political opinion was so across the board, inconsistent, and bizarre that I don't think it would be fair to classify him as anything. But maybe it's how the media is painting it, but it seems like he tried to kill one of the FEW representatives in Congress actually doing their job. But it does seem the principle target was a democrat, not a republican. Though, I suspect that this had little political purpose other than killing people. I don't believe he's really doing this for political reasons. He was mentally unstable. Jesus_lol Posted January 11, 2011 Share Posted January 11, 2011 Well, I never really thought Sarah Palin was to blame for this, though it seemed as good a time as any to point out how truly thoughtless that ad was. however, its about beaver dam time something other than a heavy metal band was blamed for a crazy dude picking up a gun and murdering people. although Rush Limbaugh seems to be trying hard to fit that accusation into this as well. talk about people being blamed as republicans or democrats? the West Memphis Three are still in jail 16 odd years later on a case rife with poor policing and evidence fabrication, mainly because they had black shirts and a few Metallica CD's on the rack. although Rush Limbaugh seems to be trying hard to fit that accusation into this as well. Targets and crosshairs are standard fare. Did you miss the miss the daily Kos where posters said congresswoman was dead to them because she had the audacity to vote against Nancy Pelosi? [/quote] This is far from Palin's only thoughtless ad in this fashion. Yes there are similar ads(can you link to some you were referring to?), but Palin's is the first to strike a chord of actually possibly being to blame for several deaths, given that one of the people named and covered by a crosshair was shot. The person who was shot actually expressed that the ad was worrying before she was shot. So there may be more ads like this, but this is the first that "just got real". It seems to be a false alarm, but given how plausible that stuff like this could have set things off, im hoping everyone takes the hint, and cuts it out with these inciteful ads and speeches. Yeah, i did miss that. I dont read the Daily Kos, unless specifically linked to it for something that sounds interesting. I also missed where those comments were relevant? so, not everyone liked this politician? im not surprised, thats pretty much the job description. saying someone is "dead to you" is not in any way a threat, btw. It has similar vocabulary, but the meaning of the phrase is significantly different, and mostly implies dissapointment. If i recall correctly, PM was rife with similar comments about McCain during the last election.
