TeresaBenedicta
What's a fair price for a speaker to come give one, one-hour talk? This speaker is not a professional speaker, but a local DRE. What should I offer him?
Brother Adam
It depends on his credentials. No degree, or a degree and little experience speaking could be as little as $50, but I would not offer less than $100. A basic degree with some experience I would offer $100.00. A master's degree with regular speaking experience could be up to $200.00. This is on top of mileage. That is what we pay anyway.
CatherineM
I get $50 plus mileage and a gift when I speak at highschools. $1500 when it's a professional conference, like the LPN's or psychiatric nurses yearly conference.
Luigi
You've got to figure that a one-hour speech will require... what?... two to four hours of prep time? Plus, with drive time to and from the event, it's really more like a whole morning or evening. So $100 may seem high if you're paying out the money, but it's probably no more than fair if you're giving the speech.
Ed Normile
If it were my wife she would happily do it for free, she loves to talk! ed
TeresaBenedicta
I was thinking right around $100, initially. It does seem like a fair price. Thanks for the confirmation, folks.
