Godparent Of Ivf Child?

If you were asked by a Catholic couple to be the godparent for their child who was conceived through IVF or using a 'rented' womb or bought eggs, what would be the moral thing to do?

Whether the child is created naturally or not, it is still a child with an immortal soul. You would base your decision on the same issues that you would use to make the decision as to whether you would be willing to serve as the child's godparent if they had been naturally conceived. Of course, the parents' decision to use IVF can figure into your discernment as to whether the parents intend to raise the child in the church.
