[/quote] Whether the child is created naturally or not, it is still a child with an immortal soul. You would base your decision on the same issues that you would use to make the decision as to whether you would be willing to serve as the child's godparent if they had been naturally conceived. Of course, the parents' decision to use IVF can figure into your discernment as to whether the parents intend to raise the child in the church.
