Just before my heart procedure, I got a statue of St. Philomena to help keep me company in the hospital. Well, she did an awesome job taking care of me, and so for Christmas, my Daddy built me a home for her:

:proud: I am so blessed!

Beautiful craftsmanship!

Here's a song on St. Philomena:

Pretty. She looks happy and very honored.

...& while we're speaking of St. Philomena, check out the Universal Living Rosary Assocation if you haven't!

wow.. that is very cool!!!

My dad was good with woodworking as well... me...notsomuch :(

I didn't get the woodworking talent from him my dad, either. But I've been pleased to discover I did, to some extent, get the talent for creatively making things fit together when something goes wrong. I just usually use that talent on things like crocheting and sewing and cooking rather than wood. I do love the smell of fresh cut wood, though! :proud:

I've been telling him...but fortunately (or unfortunately for you ;) ) the cabinetry business has been picking up a little. It may or may not also have something to do with his daughter commissioning furniture.

Did you father build this, or was it carved out of a piece of wood. He is a talented woodworker. That is a beautiful way to display your icon, I bet he could sell those for use for many statues.

your dad made that for you? How sweet and how talented is he! I hope I could shelter the Lady of Good Counsel in my "sacred space"

He built it. He can carve a little, but nothing like he can build. He is going to build pretty much all of my furniture when I get a house. :proud:
