MissScripture
This morning we got to go to Mass at the convent! It was AMAZING! We got there a little early, and sat for about five minutes and then a bell rang and everyone stood up, and I, thinking Mass was starting, stood, too. They were actually doing morning prayer and a Sister walked over and told me, "You can sit down, now." I was thinking, "Oh...FAIL!" LOL. During Mass, the Sister sitting next to us was really sweet and gave us her sheet with all the Latin stuff on it, so we could sing along and showed me the first song in the book. The other Sister (who told me to sit down, lol) gave us a sheet to follow along with Mass. The Mass was just so beautiful! The music is so amazing! Their sining and their musical abilities are so incredible. I'm sure St. Cecilia is pleased! Oh, and for maybe the 3rd time in my life, I recieved on the tongue, because I panicked when I realized that's what the Sisters were doing and I don't know what I thought would happen if I didn't...but I felt like I should, so I did, and lived through it, and didn't drop Jesus! Oh, I also panicked during communion, because I didn't know when to go up! At first, it looked like it was random, but then I realized they were going in rows, but I didn't know what sort of order they were going in, then the Sister next to us went up, but other Sisters around us didn't, so I was like, "wha?" And finally, a Sister (the one who told me to sit. ) was acting sort of like an usher to the girls who (I'm guessing) were there for the retreat. I gave her a look that clearly said, "HELP!" and she gave me a look that said, "It's okay, you can go now." Anyway, I'm so glad that I was able to go to it! P.S. I love when the Sisters walk and their rosaries jingle! Edited January 2, 2011 by MissScripture

MissScripture
So, I got home and found my camera cord, but I didn't have time tonight to download all the pics, so I will work on that tomorrow. Sorry for making everyone wait so long! When we were checking in at the airport this morning we saw 2 Sisters checking in, too. And then, when we were having a layover in St. Louis, we saw another Dominican Sister, but we don't know where she was from, because we didn't have a chance to stop to talk to her (which I totally would've done if the hubby wasn't in such a hurry! lol). But she wasn't on the plane with us from Nashville, so I don't think she was from there, but idk.

MissScripture
Oh, I told my sister about "Dominicanation" and she loved it. Vee, I also told her about you and DS talking about St. Thomas Aquinas being under Mary's mantle and you saying you weren't sure you'd fit with him under there. She said that one of the Sisters who teaches them gets annoyed when people refer to St. Thomas as fat or obese and says, "Look at where he's from! He's not fat! They just make people larger there!" MissScripture
We were in the first parlor, inside the front doors. It was HUGE! And very southern plantation-esq! (Yes, that is my sister. ) This is the chair I broke: I was just sitting on it, and I shifted my weight and the front wheel popped off. I didn't sit on it again.
MissScripture
This is the GINORMOUS bathroom attached to our parlor: It was very clean and nice. However, I'm not sure why it was QUITE so large! And no, for all who are curious, the bath tub did not work. Yes, my husband tried it.
