I'm pretty sure it's written in big black letters, in some important book, that Catholics must eat meat tomorrow, the Friday within the Octave of Christmas. Mandatory Meat Friday.

Now, THAT'S a concept I could support. Maybe I ought to try harder at this Catholicism thing.

What if you are vegetarian or live in a place where meat is very expensive and you can't afford meat? Is that a special permission or something?

News to me. I'd already planned on fish cakes because it's something my son will actually eat. (his diet right now generally consists of: coagulated milk toasties, French onion soup, Brie, naan, rice, poppadoms, fish cakes, cornbread, garlic rolls, fromage frais, ice cream, honey toast, bananas, pancakes, waffles, and muffins).

My knowledge of the Magisterium is quite limited, but my understanding was that anything written in big, black, letters means no exceptions, whatsoever, under any circumstances.

Plus, I always believe everything Sternhauser says. :joecool:

I'd say to expect the Spanish Inquisition at your doorstep any day, except that no one expects the Spanish Inquisition.

OT Note to Lil Red: Jan 1 is the feast day of Mary, the Mother of God. I haven't forgotten.
