Thy Geekdom Come

Went to FUS, loved it! Couple things to watch out for:

the administration is, sorry to say, incompetent.

if you're not into charismatic worship, be sure to go to Mass off-campus.

sometimes the administration (much-less so the faculty) can be anti-traditionalist.

be sure to get outside the bubble sometimes.

be careful in town. Steubenville is basically a really big ghetto.

if someone calls you y'ins, you'ins, etc., it means "y'all."

there's a professor in the theology department who teaches heresy. Lots of it. Watch out for her. If the faculty hasn't changed since I went there, the "her" should give it away. In case of confusion, she's not a nun.
Other than that, I learned a lot, made life-long friends, and had a great experience.

Isn't there an issue about pollution though or the air not being up to par safety wise?
The air is a LOT better than it used to be. Even during my time there it improved greatly (the air used to smell like firework smoke when we'd get fog, but it wasn't like that when I left). The water when I went there was nasty, but it also improved. Not sure if it's still an EPA red-zone. Anyway, everyone just drinks bottled water. It's okay.

Thanks for the tips! I lean a little more to the charismatic side. Luckily, I love their Masses.
Number 3- so is it the administration or the faculty that tends to be anti-traditionalist?

FUS can be a lot of work, but the campus climate is the best I ever experienced. The households are such a geat idea, even if some students find that they're not for them.
I spent a couple of semesters there - "grad-non-trad" as they call it, and they were the best ones of my life, academically and spiritually. As for the charismatic part, go and enjoy it. The standard advice to those who were not comfortable with the idea was to be part of anything (FOP's, etc.) three times before making a judgment. It would be easy to be put off the first time by the externals. The first time I was at a Healing Mass I sure was, but that was long before Steubenville. Once past that and into the core of the prayer and worship, the whole picture can change.
