I just "inherited" my grandfather's bedroom set (it certainly looks like it was built in the 60s) and I have been playing with ways to arrange things. In my expansive amount of spare time, I created a little somewhat to scale paper version of my room & furniture and played around with things. I'm just having a hard time deciding which way is the most optimal and would leave the most about of space.

Items are abbreviated as such:
TD: Tall Dresser
LD: Long Dresser (has a mirror as well...)
BC: Bookcase
NS: Night Stand
And BED is the bed
Outlets are marked by lightning bolts, and the door, window, & closet are marked, along with the one floor vent.

Here are my top three choices:

1.

2.

In this one, the TD & the LD are interchangeable.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

Both 1 and 2 generally serve the same purpose. In #3 the bed completely blocks an electrical outlet (compared to only a partial block on the others) AND the night stand is in an awkward location. I voted for 2, but #1 works just as well. I couldn't begin to tell you how any of them would actually *look* but in terms of layout for practicality, go with 1 or 2

I would use #2, but move the night stand to the other side of the bed-- closer to the outlet and and a narrow aisle makes it easier to make the bed!

I like #1 because of the relation of the bed to the window and floor vent. I dislike having my bed too close to vents, and I am not fond of beds too close to windows if you can help it.
