rhetoricfemme
Hi. I hope everyone is doing well this Christmas. I know this is as lot of prayers to ask for, but I'd appreciate it if you could please send some prayers for these loved ones of mine. Be sure that I'm praying for you all, as well! Please keep my son and his little cousins in your prayers, as this past weekend there were a few bugs going around while family visited. My sister-in-law came down with something and was sick all weekend, and my son is showing signs of having caught whatever she might have. Please pray that Shannon, my SIL recovers soon, and that no one else, particularly the many little ones running around, have contracted any colds or bugs themselves. Thank you. Another SIL, Amber, is preparing to fly to her mother's house in Maryland on Monday morning. Amber is an adult, but is mentally disabled. She's pretty much a pro at traveling without family with her, and she's given a companion during her travels, though it's still an apprehensive experience with each trip. Please pray that her travel plans go well; that the weather cooperates, for there to be no cancellations or extended layovers, for the airline employees to treat her well and for her to arrive safely. My step-mother and father-in-law and another SIL are driving back to Florida tomorrow morning. It's about a 20 hour drive; please help for them to have safe travels on their way home. It's down to only a few weeks before my husband is supposed to come home from his deployment, although there seem to be rumors of there being an extension on the time he'll be away. If this turns out to be true, it would not only be generally saddening, but also jeopardizes the prospects of him coming home in time for the birth of our daughter. Since the holidays have gotten here, he's gotten quite homesick, and has gotten a pretty bad cold on top of it, too. Please pray for his emotional and physical health during what is supposed to be the last few weeks of his deployment, and that his return date would not be pushed back. Finally, could you please say a prayer for my mother? During Christmas someone she loves very much hurt her feelings, and while my mother has forgiven and is doing her best to move forward, it's clear that she is still hurting. This is also the time of year when her arthritis begins to act up, as well as one of her lungs, which has collapsed on her in the past. Please pray for my mother's health; that she would stay strong and not fall ill this season. Not only does it take a serious toll on her, but she is the main caretaker for my sister Lynn, who is physically and mentally disabled herself.
