Craftygrl06
I voted "Other." I thikn people who say they are "Agnostic" are ridiculous....you acknowledge that there is a God, but you don't really care enough to learn anymore or attempt to gather any information about this God. What really gets me is this: believing in a God is mostly based on faith, as most evidence we have would be considered circumstantial, so you believe in God, an idea that by science's standards is pretty fantasical, you agree that there is someone out there that created you and to some degree has control over the world, but you just don't think that's worth your time...... I sound bitter...i'm really not...it just really confuses me sometimes.

Jaime
Hands down its Catholicism The last shall be first The shy folk get all the land We're called to suffer No Catholic worth his/her salt is ever completely secure that they're going to heaven Few can do guilt like we can Its completely based on love (and who can make sense out of love?) It is completely illogical and from an objective view, total lunacy. And I am deeply in love with the Faith!
ThePenciledOne
I say Catholicism as well. I mean, it clashes entirely with our nature as human beings or at least our fallen human nature. Praise God, that we have been brought into divine revelation with the Light of Christ! Praise Him! (And I second Jamie's statement.)
Nihil Obstat
I understand why people want to say Catholicism in a Chestertonian/paradoxical sense, but I don't agree. From a purely logical standpoint maybe, but I believe that the Catholic faith resonates very clearly on a phenomenological and spiritual level for many people. I know that's how it is for me. Guest
And you're asserting that passage means God created a post-Christian religion which denies the divinity of Christ, the Triune God and the sacramental nature of marriage? Do you have some documentation that the Church supports this interpretation? Does this mean the Muslim religion is the religion to join, or has God fallen into the habit of establishing contradictory religions? A man founded Mohammedanism. A pagan man who misunderstood the teachings of the Catholic Church. Not a prophet, not really even a remarkable theologian. A decent military leader, since his army managed to slaughter their way into decent land holdings, but just a man. Of course, he may have had some aid from Satan, but not, I think, with his knowledge. Mohammed may have been theologically stunted, but I believe he was seeking truth, not the Prince of Lies.
Brilliant.
Guest
It is a proper term for a religion that follows Mohammed. If some consider it a slur, then I'm sorry that invoking the name of their religious founder is considered demeaning. It is not in any way an insult to the religion, and has been used for some time. I shall endeavour to force myself to use the term "Islam" or "Muslim". Alright. Submitting that Islam is a religion made by God is an attack on Catholicism. When I was confrimed, I became a soldier of Christ, the Son of God; God made man, a person of the Holy Trinity. Mohammed made the allegation that Christ was not the Son of God, he denied my Lord's divinity. Being the Lord's soldier, annointed by chrism, I take my duty fairly seriously. I believe it is worth defending. Hyper's reaction may be extreme, but it is his personal opinion. He stated "I", and it is quite amusing that people cannot tolerate his opinion as well as InDeed's since InDeed's insults the divinity of Christ, and Hyper's insulted the theology of an Arab bigamist. I stated the historical and theological facts of Mohammed's religion, and juxtaposed them to what a Catholic MUST believe. I cited three Articles of Faith that Mohammed's religion rejects. Yes, I am upset when someone tells me my religion is wrong. However, God is upset when we allow people to spread lies. God scares me far more than any of you, and I think with good reason. We will be paralyzed from speech if we cannot tell others they are wrong. There will be no discourse, and if there be no discourse, then this site is useless, for it is made nealry entirely of words. I am sorry InDeed is quitting the field. I am worried he will persist in this erroneous notion of the divine origin of Islam, though I am pleased he did not find it truthful enough to defend with any vigour.
Good stuff.
