CatherineM
We've already fed our first half dozen people of the day. They all went back for fourths though. At that rate, I might actually run out of food.

CatherineM
Bit of a lull. We've had 20 people so far. 8 schizophrenics, 3 bipolars, a nigerian seminarian, and half a dozen teenagers from church. We still have food, which is a miracle after the horde of teenagers. We're expecting some more in about an hour.
Micah
Nice, I love chorizo, especially when it's grilled. We get a lot of mentally ill who are estranged from their family. We get widows and widowers. The teens all belong to a single mom from our church. I have this horrible feeling that in another ten years I will be stuck with only bland foods that are mushy in consistency, that old ad that used to say "You are not getting older, You are getting better" they lied! ed

They make it fresh every Friday. They bring in a fresh pig, and make sausage, render their own lard, make fresh chicharrones, and even make their own queso fresco. Any meat not used to make sausage is used to make tamales. My husband had one on Tuesday, and is still talking about it. It was practically a religious experience. My Mexican Godmother would probably frown on me hanging out with Salvadorans, but many came here as refugees, so there are a bunch more of them than there are Mexicans. Although, with the drug wars going on there right now, that might change.
