A friendly holiday reminder! If you use the word "gift" as a verb, or worse, cobble letters together to form the abomination that is "gifting," you should probably be noisily skeletonized by a pack of rabid weasels, whose happy, chirping burbles are almost able to drown out your own piteous, high-pitched screams. Just saying.

I only gift the people I friend

You don't gift people, you gift items. For example, " I'm gifting this yellowcake for Kim jong il"

I'm impressed! When I read this thread, I thought to myself, "here's one thread that Stern finally won't be able to talk about nazis or hitler." Well you sir, have proven me incorrect. Bravo :concede:

As you might have gathered, Notardillacid, I was making an allegory. An allegory to the fact that the people going about sowing such verbal weeds into the English language are helping stage a linguistic holocaust, and that it is irrational to give the derogatory title "hater" to someone who watches what he loves being destroyed, and who objects to it. They're tromping around in the beautiful garden that is the English language, spraying verbicide wherever they can. Yeah. I hate that.
