roseinthewinter
I did a post earlier with link to my blog..but I thought since some people thinks its spam I might go ahead and post the entry right here..That way no worries about it being legit. I am totally for real about this..and the response so far has been great! Friday, December 3, 2010 <a href="http://livingnazareth.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-know-girl.html">I know a girl I know a girl who lives in her little world all alone. She really doesn't have a mother or a father, or anyone that she can count on when she is in need. Her heart is broken by abuse from many who claimed to love her, and she spends her nights trying to escape the pain. She guards her heart now and is afraid of love, or anyone who wants to help. She is only a teenager, about 19, but on the verge of being a woman, and yet she has no idea what to do with her life. Who can blame here, who can blame anyone like her? She is starving for love, the right sort of love, and stability. Like so many others she needs to know once again, that she is loved and worthy of the best in life. Her heart, her spirit is broken down and I worry that without a miracle she will never know again the beauty of a true human love, and most of all, God's love. I worry about her life. This girl is beautiful, on the outside, and on the inside, though right now I know it might be hard for her to see. She has the most beautiful heart of gold, buried away in here little cave, and I wonder if it will ever be seen again. She has so much to give to this world, and some might think this world owes her much, but I don't. God has blessed this little soul with grace unseen by her. She has the chance to be something amazing, if she would only dare to trust again and reach out, not afraid of being beaten down again. When looking at her start in life, she was a child that many people think should not have been born. They might say she was an "accident" from unfortunate events, but I say she is a prize, a beautiful miracle that God has brought out of a bad situation. More then once God has tossed her a lifeline and invited her to embrace His help, and more than once she has tried and failed to hang on. Now I worry she fears to even trust God. I have watched her work through tremendous pain and come out the better on the other side. I have seen what a little encouragement and belief in her can do! I have seen her suffer and I have seen her experience true freedom of heart that only comes from God. She has forgotten it now, and needs to remember. This Christmas, this little dear, needs a miracle! Pray for her, and all those like her who are sad, alone, hurting, and living in lonely confusion. Her little heart is so battered and bruised, and I continue to reach out to her, but I know that she is afraid to accept. I don't know how many people read this blog, or how I can spread this message, but I have a bit of a request from the blog world, for the whole world, from those who have been hurt and come out of it stronger, from those who are still hurting and yet want to share hope, from anyone whose heart bleeds for this girl and all those like her. Okay, here it is: I want her to know that she is loved..even by those who have never met her. I want her to know that she is a beautiful image of God, full of hope and promise. I want her , m ost of all, to know she is not alone. Send me an email, written to her,in the subject section write " For a girl I know " and tell her whatever it is that your heart inspires. Tell her you are praying for her, share your own stories, let her know that there is still good in this world and SOOO much of it! If you have any friends and family, have them write too. Send it to the email address: roseinthewinter3@gmail.com I will then print these letters and send them to her. Thank you blog world! I have no idea if this will work...but I thought it would be worth a try! I will share some of the letters on here if you give me permission If you would like to respond via Pm you could do that too! Thanks! http://livingnazareth.blogspot.com/
kafka
hmm, do you really think this is going to work? I dont mean to be a naysayer. I am all for the lonely and downtrodden. I've literally lived with them and am one of them. But getting a bunch of letters from complete strangers seems a bit over the top. Still I would be willing to, if you really think this will do some good for her in her circumstance. ?
roseinthewinter
Well, I know that some of the most powerful moments I have seen with her , are when people are willing to reach out and tell her that she is worthwhile...no matter who they are... Plus, I dont think its going to like bring any amazing change..but I do think it will bring some encouragement to her lonely world. I have some plans for the letter..alot of them are going to be from people she does know..mixed in..anyway, its just a thought..and I dont know if it will work out..but honestly its worth a try! kafka
are you her counsellor?
roseinthewinter
Nope I was her advisor, mentor once for summer at a treatment center. She isn't in counseling or anything like that now. She is more like little sister to me now. I wanted to add. Some of the notes I have already gotten are truly beautiful in themselves. It doesn't matter who the person is, they each have a different message that comes from the heart. They have touched me, and I know they will touch anyone who can relate. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of simple truths in this life, and sometimes others can say it better than us!

roseinthewinter
Lol, that could be fun Elizabeth! Now..if only I can get more people involved! Its been actually rather interesting to see..I have not gotten nearly as many as I would like..so I am racking my brain for more ideas...lol. I got a Doctor ( counselor) who responded and offered free counseling for her ! That was interesting. I don't think she needs anymore counselors though. Just some friends and support! Micah
BOOMP Im going to write something as soon as I finish this study block.
Lilllabettt
yes, if anyone has a moment, please take that moment and do this! imo saying "she'll be fine" is a tad dismissive. People who are suffering end up being "fine" because others take the time to reach out to them. This is something wonderful to do for Advent. A great way to get some hay in the manger ( if you do that devotion

Seven77
Can it just be one line like "please know that I am praying for you"?
