CatherineM
And no, I'm not talking about peeing on a stick. The citizenship exam turned out to be dramatically anti-climatic. I was expecting to stand in line for an hour. When the security guard saw me struggling on crutches, he pulled me out of the line, and let me sit in a waiting room until the line went down. Everyone has to have their paperwork checked before they can go in the testing room, and everyone has to been done before the test can start, so being last didn't make a difference. We had 30 minutes to do 20 questions. I was done in 5. I took another 5 to double and triple check everything. It didn't help any that there had been stories all over the news the last two days about how many people are flunking the new test. There was only an 8% failure rate on the old test, and there's a 30% rate now. They didn't like it that I didn't have my Permanent Resident card, but let me take the test anyway. They made it clear though, that if I don't have it, I can't go through with the citizenship ceremony. Still have no idea where the stupid thing is. I'll find out the results of the test in 2-3 months. I think my husband is more excited about all of this than I am. Because he is a member of the Order of Canada, he is allowed to do my swearing in ceremony. I suspect he is planning to invite the press. He knows he will be in the doghouse if he does, but he'd probably think it was worth it. So thanks for all the prayers. I really didn't think I'd be able to talk them into letting me take the test without it, so I'm sure it was the prayers that helped. Now I just have to find the silly thing. I have only lived in Oklahoma City, St. Petersburg, and now in Edmonton. I did spend a summer working in the Carolinas, and many summers and vacations in Mexico. As to jobs, my clients always liked me, but my bosses, that's something else. My last boss, after laying me and half the staff off, accused me of stealing office supplies, garbage bags and coffee. The fact that I don't drink coffee didn't seem to dissuade him. He also thought I was an alcoholic because I was often absent from the office on Mondays. I tried to explain that Mondays were the best days to get bankers to negotiate loan restructurings. As to sit-ups, if that was the only exercise your body was capable of, you'd be able to do a bunch of them too.

vee
Forget St Anthony the best and most effective way to find something is to say three Glory Be's. I was taught this by the Carmelites and it really works as I found out multiple times first hand because I am really good at losing stuff!
