30 Day Silent Retreat

Hey guys,

Its been a while since I posted anything on here...the new format looks great Dust!

I am wondering if any of you know of places that offer the 30 day silent retreat (other than Creighton U/IPF). I am looking for a traditional, prayerful, spiritually edifying place (e.g. a monastery). Nothing against our dear Jesuit brethren, but they can be sketchy at worst and kind of watered down at best in matters pious. I want to really delve into this retreat and make the most of it while I am on it. Of course, this means solemn liturgy, solid schedule, and a spiritual director well acquainted with the spiritual life.

Anybody?

Just posted about this here (and a couple posts after) I believe the men's 30 day Exercises in Ann Arbor are going on now. You could look into going to their retreat house in Boston though, or email Fr. Brown about the next time he's offering it. The OMV priests are very good! God bless!

Lumen Dei offers them in spanish I think in Spain and maybe in a few other countries (???). Other retreat centers offer them as well but I have the same reservations as with the Jesuits. I agree with Chiquitunga -- OMV priests are good. I was following up on another thread and may consider doing my next retreat with Fr. Brown.

You're welcome! And here is the information on Facebook (which I don't have, but anyone can see it) - Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius

And I spoke with my friend in Boston the other day, and she was also recommending Fr. James Doran, OMV one of the in-residence priests at the OMV retreat house in Milton, http://omvhouse.org/ She said his homilies were especially spiritual/devotional (which we both love being aspirants to Carmel!) and that he offers the Traditional Latin Mass there in Milton (though I'm not sure how often .. I think she said daily, though I can't find a listing for it anywhere online .. by the way, there is an SSPX priest by the same name .. which is not him :like:) God bless!

i second Chiquitunga's motion. What I have heard, OMV are very orthodox. Liberals don't like their adherence to the Vatican.
