rhetoricfemme
Tonight has just been very tough for me, and I could use some prayers for comfort and clarity. Nic is deployed until January, and while he was supposed to be back early in the month, he recently told me not to expect him back until at least mid-month. Tonight I made a random comment to our housemate that with my luck I'll drive home for Christmas and Nic's flight will come before I get back. Then he said, "Oh, do you know anything?" He's a bit of a jokester, so I told him that the topic of when Nic gets home is not something I want to be goofed around on, so if he accidentally just told me something secret, he had better now fess up. Apparently, Nic was almost chosen to come home early, but didn't get it. Instead he was chosen to leave a few weeks later than the rest of the group he deployed with. Not only is that lousy, but it's pushing it awfully close to our daughter's due date. Not only will he be getting back later than planned, but according to his e-mail to our housemate, his military flight is dropping him at a base half way across the country from where we're stationed, and he is responsible for booking his own commercial flight back here. When I spoke to a few military wives I know (from various places around the country, not our own base), none of them with deployments under their belt had ever heard of someone being sent to another random base like this. So I'm left feeling confused and worried right now. Please pray that my husband (and everyone serving) will remain safe during deployments and have safe journeys home. Please pray that my mind would not dwell on these potentially strange travel plans, as I'm sure that my husband has a much better idea of what's going on than I do. And that he would make it home in time for the birth of our daughter. Thank you, I really appreciate it.
