MithLuin
Yes, I had one in my classroom a few weeks ago. They don't smell putrid unless they're dead and rotting. Oh....and the style reminds me of I Never Promised You a Rose Garden - there is this air of highly 'significant' ordinary events. 'You are not of them,' and the like. hewhaY Pub
A) True B) It is their spirit or lack thereof which is putrid i.e. stinks. Snakes may not smell bad but the Serpent is rankly putrid.
Jesus uses very unconventional punctuation for dialogue. Just sayin'. Also, 'putrid' means smelling of rot and decay. While it is certainly understandable that a young boy would dislike them, snakes don't stink.
Vincent Vega
Seems you missed this...
Do you believe that you are Jesus Christ, or some especially appointed messenger* thereof? *No semantics games about how "every Christian is specially appointed to spread the Gospel" or similar needed. hewhaY Pub
For an example of this type of spirtual stench language think about "there is something rotten in the state of Denmark" which referenced the foul play of plotting about the throne and not a foul odor from an animal carcass being left in the sun. It could just has easily been "there is something putrid in the state of Denmark" for as you note 'rot' and 'putrid' are synonyms. Hope that helps you understand. sixpence
1. Some snakes are very stinky!!!! 2. This looks like an AWESOME money-making scheme!!! I wish I had thought of it! You'll drag in a few gullible people, a ton of curious people just looking for amusement, and a ton of people who will read it just to prove that it is fake!!! Congrats! 3. I think it would be fantastic if you answer USAirways... Edited December 1, 2010 by sixpence
SoonerCatholic
As a future librarian and cataloger, I would classify this book under fiction and shelve it with the science fiction and fantasy.
let_go_let_God
I agree, and btw the link, doesn't work. My parishioners bring me stuff to make sure it's credible or not so I'm always looking at links. So I clicked it (like this needed debunking anyway), and it doesn't work.
hey? I skimmed it and said why not just make it into a fictional book. Use one's talents for good. Instead extreme arrogance and possibly leading people astray if there are subtle and not so subtle false doctrines. Brilliant!
I don't think he did, I think the OP is just not terribly internet savvy and put the hyphen — which would, if it were correct, be an em dash anyway — at the end of the URL, rendering it useless (rather ironic, considering the product that it's promoting). The second link is intact.
