Chiquitunga
Praised be Jesus & Mary! A friend of mine emailed me about this a few weeks ago, and I just thought to share it with you all. I am starting mine today, although you can also start it tomorrow in time for his feast day. Here I'm just going to copy/paste what she wrote. She is reading this book, St. Thérèse of Lisieux by Those Who Knew Her in her parish book group. God bless!
Dear friends, I thought I'd share this "Miraculous Novena of Grace" to St. Francis Xavier. This novena was made by St. Thérèse and she said "I have asked for the grace to do good after my death, and now I am certain of being granted it, for through this novena one obtains all that one wants" (St. Thérèse of Lisieux by Those Who Knew Her, Page 95). I was intrigued by it and found this Novena online (two versions of the same Novena, with slight variations - plus interesting history of this Novena): http://www.catholict...ovena-grace.htm http://en.wikipedia....Novena_of_Grace These pages say that the Novena can be made anytime but that it's very appropriate to start on November 24 and end on Dec 2 (the saint's feast day is Dec 3) - just in time for your consideration.

Chiquitunga
You're very welcome!! I started mine tonight, although I just noticed the prayer on the wiki page includes a few more Our Father's, Hail Mary's and Glory be's at the end .. so I'm going to do the whole thing tomorrow and go until his feast. I just got back from an adoration chapel actually that happened to have a reliquary with one of St. Francis Xavier in it too! I'm excited! I'm asking for a lot!!! As a great priest once told me, St. Therese said our prayers are answered according to our confidence .. so be confident! Here's the wiki version ..
Most amiable and most loving Saint Francis Xavier, in union with thee I reverently adore the Divine Majesty. I rejoice exceedingly on account of the marvelous gifts which God bestowed upon thee. I thank God for the special graces He gave thee during thy life on earth and for the great glory that came to thee after thy death. I implore thee to obtain for me, through thy powerful intercession, the greatest of all blessings--that of living and dying in the state of grace. I also beg of thee to secure for me the special favor I ask in this novena. (Here you may mention the grace, spiritual or temporal, that you wish to obtain.) In asking this favor, I am fully resigned to the Divine Will. I pray and desire only to obtain that which is most conducive to the greater glory of God and the greater good of my soul. V. Pray for us, Saint Francis Xavier. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. O God, Who didst vouchsafe, by the preaching and miracles of Saint Francis Xavier, to join unto Thy Church the nations of the Indies, grant, we beseech Thee, that we who reverence his glorious merits may also imitate his example, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen. Then add 3 Our Father's and 3 Hail Mary's in memory of Saint Francis Xavier's devotion to the Most Holy Trinity, and Glory be to the Father 10 times in thanksgiving for the graces received during his 10 years of apostleship.
Ed Normile
Thanks, just a thought given the ability for any clown to edit and post on wikipedia as they feel inclined to do, I would trust the first link far more than the wiki-link. maybe its just me but a place so rife with inaccuracies is hard to take real serious for me. ed

Well I'm saying the original prayer on the other site, and just adding the extra Our Fathers, Hail Marys, etc. God bless!
