Did anyone ever see the one with Susan Lucci as Scrooge? It was set in America during the Depression. Her best acting ever.

I've never seen the Finney version...loved Patrick Stewart when he played Scrooge once!

Yup! Patrick Stewart rocked it!

Am partial to the Mister Magoo cartoon version actually. Somebody went to a lot of care and trouble over that children's version of A Christmas Carol.
Mr. Magoo, as Ebenezer Scrooge, actually speaks some significant lines directly from Dickens, like "a stake of holly through his heart! Bah Humbug!"
Incidental songs by Jule Styne I believe, such as:
A hand for a hand was planned for the world
Why don't my fingers reach
Millions of grains of sand in the world
Why such a lonely beach
Where is a voice to answer mine back
Where are two shoes that click to my clack
I'm all alone in the world, I'm all alone in the world
Albert Finney set the standard for the character, not even Patrick Stewart surpassed him. Finney's version can be found on netflix.

Ahhhhh....I LOVE "Scrooge"!!! We have it on a videotape, recorded from TV! I love so many of the songs, esp. the "Thank You Very Much" song! What a great film/adaptation!

My favorite, probably no one ever saw before. I found it two years ago on either ABC or Hallmark. It's called A Carol Christmas. Its great. It makes me so happy.

Scrooge was the only 3 dimensional charachter in all the Dickens novels I have read.

Anyway, My favourite Scrooge is Alastair Sim. There are only two scrooges: Alastair Sim's Scrooge and all the other scrooges.
