i love thermo-dynamics. :) I was never a physics geek, but the thermo we covered in chemistry pretty much made my mouth water. <3

Bah humbug to thermodynamics, it goes over my head. I'm still wondering how I manage to scrape A's and B's in chemistry and physics.

No, but I believe I could. My senior design project was a separation/purification process of a thermally cracked crop oil stream (compositions experimentally generated, since this is a real process studied here), using liquid liquid extraction using sulfolane to selectively remove the aromatics, then use traditional distillation to separate out the xylenes, EB, toluene, and benzene.

A powerplant you just burn coal to generate steam to move some turbines. Should be a walk in the park. :blowkiss:

I approve of all scienctific inquiry as long as it is presented to me in a clear, simplified and dumbed down form to fit with my amature level of understanding.

or you could put MIkolbe under a turbine and all the hot air coming out of him could power a whole city for a while

 :clapping:

Well, I had two semesters of thermo at the same time as two semesters of pchem, so I feel your pain. But it's really a great subject. :)

I'm taking Thermo, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials, Principles of Naval Architecture all in the same semester. I HATE MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!! lol
