Barbara Bush: I Wish Sarah Palin Would Stay In Alaska

"Can anyone here recall Obam's IQ ever being revealed, or his college scores or what honors he graduated with, did he ever run any business. "

Just for the record, it's been widely reported that Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law. They don't give those away in your crackerjack box. It's not clear to me why "running a business" is a gold star; running a business, where you can hire and fire, is very different from running a government, where you have to collaborate with a lot of people (think Congress, the military, and the civil service) who were there before you and will be there after you. I really don't understand why people think businessmen are automatically qualified to run the country, any more than school principals are qualified to run the country.

I think Palin's very pretty, by the way. I think Michelle Obama is even prettier. Your taste may vary.

You said that you would "almost take instead someone who was a 'good mom'" before someone with good presidential attributes. I'm not saying that there aren't shared qualities of good mothers and good presidents. I'm sure there are shared qualities of good presidents and good bus drivers, or good presidents and good needlepointers. That doesn't mean that every good bus driver and every good needlepointer is qualified to be president.

Oh, I see. You're just taking it out of context. ;)

Nevermind, then.
