I do not think that reality TV personalities make good candidates for president of the US. If she had been serious about politics, she would have (at the very least) finished out her term as governor of Alaska. She did not, and so I do not take her seriously.

Now, I do agree that the Republicans need a leader. I'm just not sure who that leader should be. I kinda hate American politics.

Gee, what would you say about an actor that co-starred with a chimp in a movie about politics? Ronald Reagen turned out to be the finest President of that century. As for Mrs. Bush and her views on Sarah Palin, Mrs. Bush is a radical pro-abortion feminist who bit her tongue while her husband was President, and like most old hag republican wives she feels threatened by a youthful, intelligent and pretty woman running for President as a pro-life candidate, and living that example. Like her or not Sarah Palin brought Alaska back from near bankruptcy to being a state that took no federal monies during the bailout, with low unemployment and a booming economy.

As for her finishing her term as governer, she was under constant personal attack, her downs syndrome daugther was being parodied as was her daughter who became pregnant out of wedlock, she was constantly being falsely accused with trumped up scandals she had to defend using her own funds, she accomplished everything she set out to do when she run for governor and stated she no longer needed the stress, publicity and financial burden heaped daily upon her family. The left set out to destroy her with deceit and rumor as thats their playbook, and she decided she did not need to play anymore.

On a final note Mrs. Bush is an arse.

Then enlighten me , or refute one thing with proof, or just be content with your liberal like attack, choice words of deceit without substance.

And thank God for that.

I don't hate her. She's probably a good mom. I bet she would run a mean bingo at her church. She almost certainly uses her turn signals.
It's just that these things don't qualify an individual to be the president of the US.

In all honesty, given what we would normally think of as good presidential qualities, I would almost take instead someone who was a "good mom".

If being a good president means that you can speak well in front of a prompter, then we're in some deep doggy doo-doo.

I don't need the government to feed me and pick out my clothes and tell me I'm doing a good job, thanks very much.

There comes a point when you don't need your mother governing you anymore. If this is not the case in your life, I feel sorry for you.

What does that have to do with anything? I'm just saying that some of the same qualities of a good mother would make for a good president. The qualities that I am talking about are not the ability to comfort and feed and clothe. They are the sacrificial qualities. The same as can be found in a good father.

These are the qualities missing from politicians, and it's the lack thereof that's lead to so many problems we have now.

You said that you would "almost take instead someone who was a 'good mom'" before someone with good presidential attributes. I'm not saying that there aren't shared qualities of good mothers and good presidents. I'm sure there are shared qualities of good presidents and good bus drivers, or good presidents and good needlepointers. That doesn't mean that every good bus driver and every good needlepointer is qualified to be president.
