That mormon guy who is/was? the governor of Massachusetts, who was constantly bickering with McCain in '08 was really uptight and irritable.[/quote]
Plan on seeing him again. You can learn that his name is Mitt Romney... and yeah, you'll see him again.

Sarah Palin has no chance of becoming president. Her public life has become a soap opera. The general public will never take her seriously as a politician.

but isn't that what the general public likes these days - entertainment? Does the general public take our current president, who has no problem going on talk shows like any regular movie star, seriously as a politician?

I'm not sure Obama is a good comparison. His life never really became a public soap opera before he was elected. I suppose the closest thing it came was the Jeremiah Wright controversy. But controversy alone is not what I'm talking about with regards to Sarah Palin. It was "controversial" that Sarah Palin had an unwed pregnant daughter. But then that whole situation went up a whole other level into soap opera territory with the public discord between Levi Johnson and the Palin family. Now Bristol Palin has become a sort of celebrity of her own, performing on "Dancing With the Stars." And the Palin family has a reality television show. In 20 years I imagine that the Palin family will be remembered primarily as a piece of pop culture of the late 2000s and early 2010s, not as the the "First Family."

Obama appears on television shows. But Sarah Palin became a regular contributor to Fox News. That's the difference between the two of them, I think, as far as their public perception goes. No doubt, Palin has a future in the news opinion business. But she has no future as president.

Good points, I'll grant you.

What i was trying to get at was that today's general public may prefer entertainment in a politician (or even controversy/"soap opera"), instead of some "boring" politician they've never heard of, or who isn't entertaining enough to keep their attention span longer than a minute or two. I mean, people love "Dancing With the Stars," don't they? Sorry - guess i've gotten to be a bit cynical when it comes to politics these days. <_<

You may be right. At the very least, I think Sarah Palin's celebrity wins her an automatic "seat at the table" when the primaries come around. How deep she'll make it into the presidential playoffs...I don't think she'll be among the final two.

I just wish we could elect someone with at least a room temperature IQ. Problem is that quality people no longer want the office.

Yeah, the choices are terrible...

Who was that guy from NC who lost to Obama in the primaries in '08? Dude reminded me of a vacuum cleaner salesman. That mormon guy who is/was? the governor of Massachusetts, who was constantly bickering with McCain in '08 was really uptight and irritable. Dennis Kucinich from Ohio believes in something called "spirit energy", which he gave a speech on while in office. And that former governor of Arkansas comes off more like Mr. Rogers than a president...

Mitt Romney. blech. no way.

I find it revealing that many women dislike Sarah Palin. Not even counting the base idiots who truly think that the Governor of Alaska actually said she could see Russia from her back yard, these dim bulbs took the comedic rant of Tina Fey as gospel truth talk about your low IQ idiots. What is amazing to me is the pettiness of many women who obviously feel threatened by an attractive woman who is both popular and has a fantastic business head. This must go back to their school days when they felt less than equals to the pretty popular girls. Comments like she has a low IQ? where did that come from, her IQ reportedly is 125, she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Journalism and a minor in political science. Can anyone here recall Obam's IQ ever being revealed, or his college scores or what honors he graduated with, did he ever run any business. As far as Barbara Bush goes she is now and always has been a left leaning liberal, she is pro abortion and a feminist and disagreed with almost all of her husbands and Reagans policies, a fact she did not have the guts to reveal until her hubby was out of office. Barbara Bush has never accomplished nothing politically or in the busniess arena either, no wonder she is jealous of a woman who accomplished so much on her own initiative not needing to ride on her husbands coat tails as Mrs. bush has done.

Historically only persons with a high IQ ever win a governorship, even if her IQ was 11 look what she has accomplished, not all governors are as successful as Mrs Palin was during her tenure as Governor of Alaska either. The standard tact of liberals is when they can not attack a person on substance they accuse them of being dumb, this puts Mrs palin in great company, including Ronald Reagen who was rumored a buffoon during his presidency. I truly doubt that IQ has much to do with business, lets face it running a state or a country has much to do with the ability to run a business. Alaska was on the brink of bankruptcy when Palin took office, when she quit her governorship Alaska had the best economy of any American state. Alaskans enjoy a ten year buffer of tax monies willingly paid by citizens enjoying a robust free market economy and Alaska did not need to take any stimulus monies from the government, if she could do this for America that would be great. Ladies put the claws away and embrace a strong minded successful woman, men look up to strong successful men, women should take the cue and look up to a woman such as Palin who has accomplished so much in this so called mans world. Another thought, receiving a paycheck of over a million dollars an episode for her reality show promoting life in Alaska which will also boost tourism and keep her in the public eye, is somehow a reason to think she is either dumb or a failure, I just do not get the thinking on this.
