MithLuin
The link must've gotten put up on 4chan again. When they linked to it there on Nov. 1st, the vote swung wildly towards abortion. As a joke, of course. No one takes anything on 4chan seriously. The poll closes on Dec. 7th. Personally, I seriously doubt they're going to rush out and abort their second trimester baby just because an internet poll tells them to. They've posted that they originally planned to have 3-5 kids, and tried to start a family earlier this year (with 2 miscarriages dashing those hopes). They may have had doubts or concerns when this whole thing started, but they have had some time to think about it. The woman has seen the ultrasound a bunch of times, and calls the fetus 'Baby Wiggles.' It's healthy, and she got a fetal heart monitor so she could verify that it was still alive. It seems to me that she's afraid she'll miscarry again (she's miscarried three times, and never gotten this far into a pregnancy before). I don't see her giving up this baby without a fight. The one posting the 'your vote matters' croutons is her husband. He might not really feel that there's much emotional attachment to the baby yet, but she's not posting anything that suggests she doesn't want the baby. He needs to man up and quit playing games.

MissyP89
Update: Vote now swinging 38-61 for abortion. What a mess. What's worse is that there is a great deal of chatter going on that this is not only a hoax, but one organized by pro-lifers. For the love of God, I hope not... This article from the NY Daily News details a little of the investigation into the couple. Take it for what you will. All I know is either way, this is not going to end well. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2010/11/19/2010-11-19_couple_insists_abortionbyvote_website_is_not_a_prolife_hoax_bloggers_try_to_prov.html Edited November 22, 2010 by MissyP89
penguin31
The only reason the voting has swung so wildly is because of interference by a group of basement-dwellers at a horrible little site called 4chan, who have decided to make it their personal mission to repeatedly slam the voting applet with votes for the abortion. If there were ever a valid reason to just unplug the internet, it's 4chan. Also, if it IS a hoax, it's one that's almost assuredly going to reflect poorly on the pro-life cause. let_go_let_God
I did read an article from a Northern Minnesota news source that says
The website says the couple has until December 2nd to make a decision, but Alisha says they are not going to leave it entirely up to the public. "We are taking everyone's vote into consideration, in the end, you know, like the President, we reserve veto power," said Alisha.
Maybe God is working on her heart and she's considering what they are able to do, instead of abort this child.
