IgnatiusofLoyola
I had lots of people working in my house this week for to fix plumbing, heating, and all kinds of other problems. Over the week, I got to know them a little. In the course of talking, I found that one of the workers, James (a wonderful person), has a daughter who was born roughly two months prematurely. She was in the neonatal ward, I believe, for at least a month (maybe more), but she is finally home, and so far, things seem to be doing okay. But, this is still a critical time for the baby, and the experience, obviously, has very been stressful and heartbreaking for the family. As James said, "It's one thing if something happens to me, but when it's your new daughter, a helpless infant, it's very hard." I'm sure he was understating how difficult it has been both for himself and his family. This is he and his wife's first child, and the baby is the first grandchild in the family. I told James I would pray for his daughter, and for he and his family. But, I feel like I'm still so new at praying, and my prayers are so weak, that if any of you have even a little time to pray for James and his family, your prayers would be appreciated, and are much more powerful than mine. Thanks. I don't have to tell you how much I appreciate all of you and your prayers for people you don't even know. I was feeling sorry for myself for all the hassles of things going wrong with my house (not to mention how much it all cost), but things like things like this help me put my puny problems in perspective.
