tinytherese
So for I don't know how many class period, I've had to present to my class and professor a lesson plan for teaching a lesson for a certain age group in the faith. It seems as if after I present that I frequently get told criticism regarding my lesson from the professor. We've read plenty of information on catechesis, but so far we haven't focused very much on specific methods of teaching (other than a lecture) and other practical issues regarding planning a lesson. Because of this, I'm not always sure how much to include in the lesson or how long each part of it will take. We need to learn more concrete aspects of actually teaching instead of relying on our own creativity or abstract theories. It also irks me that we can't use that many outside sources outside of occasional helpful references in the lesson. I've just been known to find really helpful catechesis guides and programs and besides in our professional lives we'll be working with curriculums. I'm not one who likes to come up with my own for a lesson. Anyway, I just got a lot of criticism from my last lesson and even though I understand that very much of it was well deserved, that it still upset me. It just seems as if I'm someone who is known to get criticized a lot.
