LOVE that video of the Capuchin Sisters too! :harp:
And, it wouldn't surprise me if some of those new vocations are people who never actually posted on Phatmass, but were among our "guests, and perhaps we helped them with their discernment.
And there are probably many who were even regular posters at some point who have entered also, and just didn't post it on the public board. I know a couple of these, least we think because someone isn't posting, they're not discerning anymore :priest: .. :nunpray:

Thanks be to God; that's wonderful news! I've been the the Flemington, NJ Carmel website a few times before: http://www.flemingtoncarmel.org/index.htm

I will be entering the Elysburg Carmel December 12th. I must have lost count of how many are there now. I know within the past few months they have received 2 or 3 postulants. They came to Elysburg from the Valparaiso, Nebraska Carmel last April with 12 or 13 nuns I believe. Maybe 15 or 16 now in Elysburg? I think Valparaiso has near 30. It may not be long until another foundation is made. I know Reverend Mother in Nebraska had said that they need to see more black veils first.

Congrats....! That's awesome you'll be entering Elysburg! Right now I'm on a search for a good rural Carmel. I was in a very urban one for about 1 month and it just didn't click well with me in that type of setting. Carmel is such a beautiful place. It changes you. You'll be in my prayers.

Have you considered the Carmel of the Holy Name of Jesus in Denmark, WI? They follow the 1991 Constitutions and are very traditional. Mother Mary Elizabeth is wonderful and sent me bucketloads of information plus a few 3rd class relics of St. Therese that I kept. They are in a pretty rural area outside of Green Bay, WI. Go to their website and click "Silence" and it will tell you more about their location. It sounds very peaceful and serene.

Littlellama, the Buffalo Carmelites have a foundation out in South Dakota, in which the extern there mentioned, "it's in the sticks!" It's very rural. Many of the sisters there have food allergies, so if you do too, you'll fit right in. A few of them had to make a visit to Buffalo for a little while and they weren't sure what to feed them!

They're of the 1990 constitution, and a very beautiful Carmel! Definitely look into them. I'd assume it's very quiet out there.

I have their Christmas newsletter from last year! :kitten: If any of you would like to see it, I can send it on :like: They have a whole bunch of animals in there .. from 2 dogs and 2 cats .. to ducks .. chickens, a turkey! .. and a few goats, whom they use for milk for the Sisters with the allergies (although I think they all drink goats milk now) They are very much into organic gardening also. They are a beautiful little Carmel and a very united happy community, so I've heard from a priest. They've been receiving a lot of vocations lately too (the numbers on the IRL site are off) .. I can't remember just now .. but I want to say 3 postulants and 3 novices .. and a couple in First Vows .. and they had a Solemn Profession this year, page 14 here <-- pdf file

They're in a small quiet town, which is itself out in the middle of nowhere .. though the actual monastery is in the town, though off to the side, but I've heard it's quiet  God bless you in your discernment, littlellama!

I'm confused...as a Dominican I know nothing about the 1990-1991 constitutions. What does that mean?

Dieu vous benisse! Thanks for enlightening me!
