IcePrincessKRS
Good points Jake. I said I like being tan, but that doesn't mean me being tan or getting a tan is sinful, it doesn't mean I do it purely out of vanity. I like to sit outside and feel the warm sunshing, getting tan just so happens to be a side effect of that that I like. lol Sometimes I do go outside to tan (Like Erika,I did it for my wedding lol). Its kind of hard NOT to tan when you have a black grandma and so you look like you've got a nice tan even in the dead of winter.
PedroX
As with many things, I think motivation plays a big part. Vanity is never good. But, perhaps Jake is right about there being healthy motivations. Princess Bling, When you said "vendetta" I imagined you taking a hammer (perhaps a velvet one?) to the local tanning salon. Just like the old temperance movement! peace...
IcePrincessKRS
*sigh* When I take out my hammer its usually a big sledge hammer. No velvet for me.... definately not the peace maker in most situations. lol Thats why its good for me to mod, I can try and practice charity and peace making a little more often. :haha:
cmotherofpirl
My 30 year old cousin was into tanning. She is having large parts of her leg removed to aggressive melenoma. A member of our neigboring church laid outside constantly, and prided herself on the darkest tan you could possibly get. She is 40+ and looks 70+. IcePrincessKRS
Now I think THAT is sinful. A shade or 2 darker just from normal outside activity or swimming is normal. Frying yourself to bits is baaaad.
Dave
I need a tan! My complexion is too light! But I just like my skin a little darker. I wouldn't be doing it to show off. To claim that that would be vanity would be akin to saying it would be sinful to wear fashionable clothing or wear your hair a certain way or even lose weight or gain muscle!
