Micah
I'm about midway into my 4th hour of homework. Kind of decided not to sleep until I finish up all my research for this stupid paper. The coffee is wearing off and I'm pretty much exhausted. About 6 more pages of rough notes to complete, but at least I have a super snazzy idea of how to construct this thing. I was just kind of lurking on facebook because I take a little break every hour and you know when you click on someones profile and you see mutual friends, well I saw all these girls from like second year high school, so that took me on a little trip down memory lane. Anyways........... I really want a smoke right now. Bwahaaaa haaaaaa... I guess I should get back to it. The sooner I finish the sooner I can go to bed woohooo! There's nobody online either. Facebook and Phat-world are dying down for the night. Okay im going now... goodbye.. Most likely someone will find my body in a pile of books and papers in my bedroom, suffocated with words and historical dates. Romantic harpsichord music in the background. I hope I strike a dashing pose.

Micah
I called it quits just now. I was writing the word "earn" and it came out "flear". Then I was writing the word "future" and it came out "fragit". An indication that I have surpassed usefulness for the night. Micah
I think most students can share the sentiment. Luckily tonight I'm reading manuscripts on a medieval Catholic pilgrim woman; suffice to say, it is a much lighter workload! Now for something completely different: I love my new leather oxfords. They make me feel collegiate whether I be composing essays or stuffing my face with pizza. In fact, I love them so much I am wearing them now even with a pair of shorts. They are a light, matte leather, almost suede. This is all part of the slow transition from undergraduate to graduate student. Next semester, I will begin replacing the last of my tee-shirts with button downs! My older sister saw me today at the Remembrance Day ceremony (Americans have a similar day today, Veteran's day, though not entirely the same sentiment) and thinks I'm "getting all grown up", which I suppose I am. Today I found myself thinking of Canadian culture, i.e. British colonialism with a French flare, about our niceties, our sense of English propriety and conservative nature. It is wholly different than the United States' experience. Whereas Canadians, particularly in British Columbia, will stand around a cenotaph singing God Save the Queen, polishing the rust off their colonial ties, Americans are much more the protester, the radical, the rebel. National displays swell the breast with the sound of a rifle. And while I in fact find Americans to be friendly, amusing, generally awesome, every semester I spend studying our history I see the difference between the British-Canadian upper class loyalists and the union renegades. Consider this, our history, lest anyone think America to be a continent of lumberjacks and cowboys.
haha, from what I've seen, U.S. Americans have the widest perceptions of Canadians I've ever seen, from people who spend loads of time in Canada to ignorant people who think Canada's the U.S. but French and snowy , but generally I've found U.S. people amiable. Except when I purposely try paying in toonies and coloured money..
kafka
you guys produced one of the greatest musicians, one of my favs, Glenn Gould. Love him, although he had a troubled sort of life. I've watched some videos about him and by him and that gave me some idea of Canada.
Micah
Glen Gould is absolutely genius. My perceptions of your character just increased like umpteen-fold. He does the most amazing rendition of Beethoven's 5th symphony: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjF3-fUfX3E&feature=related
