Not yet. It's been made for someone. Now be quiet.

Just a little poll to get the discussion going.

[color="#800080"]If I do something without a mistake, that only means that I didn't make an error when I did that thing, such as bake a cake, or read a book. Or trim a hedge, or mow the lawn. That does not translate into infallibility.

Why? Because the next time I bake a cake, read a book, trim a hedge or mow the lawn, or anything else I once did without error, I may just make a mistake, and then no one would even think I could be infallible.

Making a mistake and infallibility are not mutually exclusive, you know. Doing everything without making a mistake, without sinning I would say, would be impeccability, not infallibility.

Infallibility deals with whether what the Church teaches is God's Truth or not. The charism of infallibility goes with the office, not with the man.

Do you need any clarification on this?

Oh we're being serious :think2: Well then, I said no! Getting a perfect score in the exam does not mean you are infallible, because you could have made a mistake but didn't. Only God is infallible. Humans are only infallible when they quote God, but are not necessarily infallible in their interpretation. A correct interpretation of scripture can only be given by a person with the will of God. I don't think God would give permanent infallibility to anyone. The end result of his Church may be infallible in what he intends it to achieve, (his infallibility) but it's detail may consist of many errors and corrections.(Human)

"Not infallible" Isn't that a double negative? Doesn't it mean the same thing as fallible?

I think that we all do some things without mistakes. But we make up for that by all of the mistakes when we do other things.

Think about the sentence. As a question, it's much like "Are you not entertained?"
