And on the morality of the whole thing I would agree that zombies souls have moved on and blowing there head off is the perferable response to seeing one, unless it would be easy to kill it without a gun, guns make lots of noise which could attract more zombies.

I don't think that'd be a concern since, technically (at least according to one expert in the field, Max Brooks), the only functioning organ/system in a zombie should be their brain. Everything else, including 'breeding functions' would be nonexistent. Interbreeding with one or more of your living companions is another matter, taking into consideration marriage and genetic concerns.
