Okay, This Is Going To Sound Weird...

This is what a catholic site should do, bring out mature dialogue on the important issues facing mankind. Most people do not give proper thought to the important things like a zombie apocalypse and the effect it may have on religious rites and activities. I personally feel that during a zombie apocalypse that dispatching the zombies with great violence would be okay, spiritually as well as the feeling of accomplishment one would recieve from blowing off the head of a zombie. There would be no sin as these zombies are already dead, or undead as the popular term these days seems to be. As far as marriage it would still be a union between a man and a woman, I am sure God would still bless the union in the absence of a priest as long as it was entered into in a faith and prayer based manner. I do not think anyone should marry a zombie however, unless of course they find that zombie both very hot and religiously compatible, the latter being the determining factor as it pre-empts the whole what faith do we raise the kids in issue.

Would it be moral to kill zombies? I mean, obviously in self defense or in defense of the innocent it's oka, but what about just a random zombie not causing any harm?

Would zombies be affected by holy water? Are they like vampires? What if a zombie walked into a church offering Eucharistic adoration? Would the zombie possibly be healed?

I am amazed at the naivete of your post! Of course its moral to kill a zombie, even a random zombie causing no harm, it probably just devoured human flesh and is digesting at the time, think of your family after a thanksgiving meal all too stuffed to argue. Zombies are not like vampires, of course holy water would not burn them. And yes, a zombie could be healed in front the Eucharist, with God all things are possible.

Hypothetically, what if there was a bunch of ladies left on earth, but only one guy. would he be required to marry just one of them and keep the gene pool as shallow as possible?

Well, God started us off with only two people. I imagine He could do it again.

i read in a book that the reason it wasn't 'a big deal' to marry your sister was because Adam & Eve would have had the purest genetic code possible - no lethal genes like every person on earth now has - so incest wouldn't have caused the problems it causes in our society today.

That's true, because they didn't have any weird mutations yet. But even so, there would still be a ton of inbreeding if a guy had kids with numerous women, because those kids would still have to marry eachother and have kids.

Inbreeding, yes, but less than if there was really only one woman to start with. I mean, these 'last person left alive on Earth' scenarios tend to be a bit crazy, but if it were to really happen, there would maybe be a greater temptation for the guy to take multiple wives, but that wouldn't make it the morally correct choice.

Are Cannibals from the Calvinist or Lutheran branch of Protestantism?

I think at that point it wouldn't matter, practically (not morally) speaking, whether a guy took multiple wives, because their children would get more and more inbred that variation would be bred out of the human genome, and the human race wouldn't be biologically viable after a couple hundred years. But I guess by that time that one would have figured out how to sail to another continent and search for other survivors...and those people would render the need for multiple wives moot. So I guess morality wins in the end. :) Yay!
