tnavarro61
Thanks for the info Navarro. I still don't understand the lay companions wearing the habit though. I guess I try to think of it as third order members but I have never seen a community/order where their lay members/third order wear the habit. In any event, they are all in my prayers. Especially those who are not obedient to the Bishop. May the Lord guide them to the truth.
yes i too couldn't understand why they wore habits. maybe they perceived it's wrong that they discarded it many years ago. God bless you. MithLuin
Thank you for clearing that up, tnavarro. This must be an older picture, then, and I am glad they discarded that practice some time ago. I imagine this must be a very painful and difficult time for those involved in the process, so I'm sorry for asking about irrelevant stuff.
you're welcome, and this is not an irrelevant stuff. i think this has to be clarified too, because some people may perceive something wrong about us former lay Companions. OnlySunshine
Does anyone know what is happening with the former hermits these days?
I got a newsletter from them last month, but I actually just threw it away. I never asked for the newsletter, so I don't ever read them. I wished I had now because I would have liked to have known what is going on with them.
Visit http://www.intercessorrelief.com This is the website of the former hermits who choose to obey the Bishop. They are doing well, they continue living as a community. Go to their website for updates. They have pictures there. They are receiving a lot of support, especially from priests and religious. pray for my brothers and sisters there! I heard that The Intercessors of the Lamb, Inc. sent out a newsletter that they are offering a retreat for those interested, with the cost of $400. When Intercessors of the Lamb (not the Inc.) existed, retreats were free of charge. In the newsletter I heard that IOL, Inc. also asked for donations but they didn't explain the why's. Sheep82
I know this is an old post. But I was one of the Sisters in that community when it went through the supression. I was there for 4 1/2 years Some members have joined other communities, some are living a single life and others are now married.

GraceUk
I read this and then realised this all happened 10 years ago. But it must have been a huge shock and upheaval to all the sisters involved. Their lives must have been shattered.
