AccountDeleted
Problamo. Me no understando.
JL - I've never been 100% comfortable with this litany either, but I try to remember the spirit and the intention rather than the actual words. Wanting to be humble is good - but sometimes the whole chasing humility thing seems to be a source of spiritual pride anyway so we need to remember that humility is a GIFT of the Holy Spirit, like faith - and not the result of our efforts alone. Focusing too much on things like pride or humility lead us to lose focus on God Himself. If we focus on Him alone, and try to do all things that are pleasing to Him, then He will take care of the rest. I mean, after all, is there ever going to be a day when we pat ourselves on the back and say, "Wow, I've finally made it! I'm really humble now. I don't have any pride at all!" Don't think so.... krissylou
I think it's important to remember that humility is not so much "thinking less of yourself" as it is "thinking of yourself less."
Mine well, lets just say that I got hit over the head several times As my spiritual director has said -- sometimes we don't listen so He makes sure that we do by sending us those trials/experiences that we could have very well avoided if we had listened in the first place. Makes one grow in humility really quick. The hard way
