rhetoricfemme
Hello, Could you please send up a prayer for my four sisters? They each have things going on in their lives that takes tolls on their bodies and minds right now. This request is somewhat long, so I just want to thank you so much for even considering skimming through it all. Thank you so much! My sister Tina is having a second eye surgery in less than two weeks, since her doctor is not happy with the way it is healing. Please pray for her recovery, and that she would not worry about taking off work during this time (she has a how threshold for stress and wears herself to the core very easily). Brandi and her husband are pregnant with their first child. While everything is going well, they are still nervous because my sister is in her late 30s, and had to go off of her migraine medications in order to conceive. She has debilitating migraines, but thankfully they have left her alone for the better part of her pregnancy, and she is due January 30. Please pray that Brandi's health and pregnancy will continue to be on the up, and that God would bless our family by bringing her Thomas safely into this world. Kim is struggling with her weight, which fluctuates constantly, and her doctor has told her that she needs to do something about it for her health. She has a very fast-paced life and does not make time for herself, which includes meal times, and she always opts for the fast food option throughout her day, nearly every day. Diabetes runs in our family, and that is a very real concern for her, especially if she does not take the time to eat right and exercise more. Please pray that Kim would find the strength to break bad habits and not be afraid to admit that it's not something she can do alone. Finally, my sister Lynn. She is mentally and physically disabled, and relies on our family (mainly my mother, but we all do our best to be there and help) for literally everything. Her doctors recently readjusted her medications on the count of her seizure activity getting out of control. Her medication dosages are a constant game of figuring out what she needs; her body gets used to one thing, then after a while that particular medication scheme doesn't prevent the seizures like it used to. After this last tweak, she seems to finally be getting some relief. The seizures have tapered down significantly (though she still gets them regularly, just not quite as bad), her appetite is returning, and she's been sleeping better. It's still tough, though. The seizures will never go away, but the meds, when in proper dosage, do so much to help her. Lynn's expected to start the menopausal phase of her life in the next few years here, and no one is entirely sure how this is going to affect her, which is the next big thing our family is anticipating. Please pray for Lynn's well-being; that she not have to be frightened and exhausted each time one of these various types of seizures attacks her. Please pray that she would find comfort and good health, and feel God near her. In addition to my sisters, please pray for our mother. She is the rock of our family, who is Lynn's constant care taker, and a confidante to each of us. On any given day of the week, I can call her and in the background I'll hear her taking care of Lynn while her second cell phone rings with a call from one sister, while the other one is walking through the front door for a visit. And I haven't even mentioned the fact that she also is a constant for all of her grandkids. Honestly, I don't know how she does it all, but she does it with love and not once in my life have I ever heard her complain. Please pray for her good health and that she would remember to take care of herself, too. I know she does, but wow. You know?
