How Long Did It Take?

From the time you first started looking into the Catholic Church to the time you were received, how long did your conversion journey take?

I started at the beginning of August 2002, and was received in April 2004, so just over 18 months for me (I think my math is right on that).

For me it took about 3 years...three glorious years, that strengthened my love for the Church.

We started looking for arguments against the Church in the fall of 2002. We started looking for arguments for it in December 2003. We started to consider joining in Jan. 2004. We decided Feb. 10, 2004. We were received exactly two months later.

I started going to Mass every Sunday during early 1999 (and I started researching and studying about that time as well), and was received Easter 2001. I guess that makes it three years. A very appropriate number!
We didn't go to mass until we'd already pretty much decided we were going to join...
I had attended a few times, but didn't start regularly attending until I had decided to joing.

I was 12 or 13 when I first became attracted to Catholicism, and I was 18 when I was finally received into the Church.

The Mass was where my heart was won. I knew nothing about Catholicism (except a bunch of lies) until after attending my first Mass.

You know what? Me too. But when I decided to be serious about following Jesus, I went a different direction. If I had pursued Catholicism back then, I wouldn't be married to HS_Dad and my whole life would be seriously different... Weird...

I know what you mean except i didnt know that many lies , I really I had no idea what the catholic church was like. My first mass was so uncomfortable , because my boyfirend briefly went over it and then we headed in and boy was I in for a surprise. the first time I went i didnt know what to say when we offered a sign of peace or what we were doing and one guy offered his hand to shake but I just looked at him like he was crazy ( I was so embarresed. Now when I bring my sister to mass I made sure i told her everthing that went on and if she didnt know just follow.

Our first Mass, during the sign of peace I gave a big ol' "hi!" to the person next to us... just like in our old church... Ooops... Needless to say, I haven't made that mistake again...
