For A Friend With Serious Health Issues

My sister's best friend has been having some major health issues for which she had surgery this summer, but has had problems ever since, and the doctors haven't really figured out what's going on with her (or if they even did surgery for the correct problem), so things are really up in the air for her. Every time she seems to be doing better, something happens and she ends up back in the ER. She is also far from home, right now, in her first year of college.
