IcePrincessKRS
I voted Augustinians. I grew up in a parish that had Augustinian priests/friars. It was wonderful--in my teens they had to return to their.... monastary? I forget if thats what its supposed to be called.... and we got diocesan priests, not bad but not quite like the Augustinians. I have a special place in my heart for Augustinians.
mom25angels
The Community of St. John for so many reasons. (And their founder is a Dominican so that makes them extra cool!). Hmmm, let's see if I can put why into my own words.... Because they contemplate Christ at the foot of the Cross, like the apostle John, with Mary. Because they bring the Truth via philosophy and metaphysics classes. Because they are so closely tied to the heart of the Holy Father and his teachings on the Theology of the Body and many of his other writings. Because their religious life edifies the lives of those of us who are married, strengthening our committment to Christ. Because with them I have found my spiritual home.... -_- On the other hand I'll be going to a Jesuit Univ. soon so I'm sure that I will be learning a lot about them too!
I totally agree and might add I love them because............my kids love 'em too. My kids were in seventh heaven yesterday at Bro Nathan's profession because there were so many brothers and sisters to hug!!

Adeodatus
Well, coming from me, it just has to be the Dominicans, the Order of Preachers! As Sista2B said, the habit is just so cool. And like Jedi, we have our own lightsabres (the 15 decade Rosary!) hanging from our belts. But seriously, when I was young(er), I thought the Dominicans were like Franciscans but only less glamorous.... no cute furry animals surrounding us! Now that I'm in, it's a great life: active ministry coupled with prayerful contemplation. A way of life that affirms the goodness of creation, the centrality of Our Lord's Incarnation, and our utter need for grace. And you can be orthodox and sound without being persecuted! (always a bonus). The Franciscans got one up on us in the Middle Ages when they said our holy father St Francis was a more Christ-like figure than our holy father St Dominic. We couldn't deny it. It's true! Francis was more charismatic, people thought he was crazy, and he bore the wounds of Christ. So the Dominican trump card was not to say Dominic was more like Christ, but that Christ was the first Dominican, the first poor preacher! Genius. willguy
lol. Yay, order wars! Ya gotta love order jokes. If you want to hear some good ones, go to Clyde Convent (OSB) and ask the sisters to talk about the monks at Conception Abbeuy (also OSB and about a mile and a half down the road). popestpiusx
I picked "other". While all those orders have some good members, it seems the orders themselves have gone a little wackey. I think they all have some very conservative/traditional groups within them. My favorite order, however, (if I must pick one) is the Institute of Christ the King, Sovereign Priest: http://www.institute-christ-king.org/
