Crusader_4
Hi I need some real help here and some advice. I am a convert to Catholicsm and believe sincerly and devoulty all of the Truths our Holy Apostolic Church teaches. Now here is the problem. My mother is very unhappy that the whole family is not attending Church together anymore. So she is thinking about being Catholic so our whole family will not be divided. Yet she has serious misgivings about this. She does not feel comfortable or agree with all of the Church's teachings. She also i dont think will ever come to believe any of them and she has made this quite clear i.e. birth control. So i am very disturbed. I dont know what to do to encourage her in this journey or sit back and say u know what pull back...or what cuz her intention is to have the family united under one faith rather then fully practice. So any ideas or help. She said she is considering talking to my Monsigneur (who is an awesome guy)... i am not sure what she will say or what though and i dont want her to have 2 lie either and i know she doesnt want to. She just feel really bad that our family is not one faith. Some help please!
Adeodatus
Encourage her to voice her difficulties with the Catholic Faith when she talks to your parish priest or monsignor. If she is only going through the motions, then it isn't a genuine conversion of heart, and the priest may say something. If you still have doubts about your mother's sincerity, then speak to the parish priest. My prayers are with you and your family. Peace be with you.
