AccountDeleted
Okay, I went through each and every one of these (btw, the Maryknoll Sisters are here too .. but theirs are pretty different) and these and couldn't find any like this. The closest I could find was the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary here .. But theirs is still a bit different .. http://www.rshm.org/...als/butler.html It looks like they have black capes .. maybe Dominican?
Yes, I was going to check out Blessings dolls, but you beat me to that! Perhaps they are an offshoot of another community like the Maryknoll? laetitia crucis
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. Good try sister but I am saying that the photo is NOT Carmelite. The article below the photo is about research done with Carmelite nuns, but the photo does not show these nuns, but another group of Mystery Nuns! So the hunt for who they are is still on.......
Ooooh! So, I am not too late! Okay... let us go a googling...

IgnatiusofLoyola
Well, I don't know who the community is, they don't appear to be Carmelites to me, so the photo is probably stock, and that leaves their identity still a mystery to be solved! Here is an article about the research though, it was conducted in Montreal, so I will search for photos of Carmelites in Quebec that might be similar. Research with Carmelite Nuns
Not to make things more complicated, but if it is a stock photo, these nuns could be ANYWHERE--even Europe. One possible helpful clue--the picture looks pretty recent, making it less likely that these nuns have changed their habit since the picture was taken. I was doing other things, so I am probably too late. But, I can hardly wait to see what you find! BTW--I just noticed your Avatar Nunsense. (I'm slow.) Awesome that you are applying! (Except that we'd miss you a LOT!)

Yes, perhaps they are an offshoot of another group .. or maybe a Traditionalist community .. oooo or maybe Anglican/Episcopalian! Tridenteen
JMJ The sisters look Eastern European. Their facial features are very distinct in that manner. Sorry to sound weird, but my family is like that, we look EE....and I know quite a few poles/slavs whho have similar facial characteristics. AccountDeleted
I think they're like the old Carmelites of Charity (or someting to that effect) habit. Congrats on the tag Vee!
I don't think so. The Vedrunas didn't have the pointed headpiece.
the style of the veil is similar to the old Maryknoll habit. I think it was pointed in the front like these are
Yeah, but they didn't have the same white neckpiece (toque for Carmelites). This is a mystery and Tridenteen is probably right - the search would have to widen more. i don't know if I have the time to pursue it though... I did find some similar nuns in the US - but it was an old photo pre-Vat 2, not a new one.
