They obviously don't have medical insurance and can't pay for their treatment. So....who do you think picks up the tab? I think it is very good that we treat [i]everyone[/i] in our hospitals, regardless of their ability to pay, but I also think that there could be better ways to handle certain problems. Between mental health and drug and alcohol addictions...well, that's why many people are homeless. We're not going to get rid of homelessness without addressing these (and other) issues. The poor will always be with us...but we do have an obligation to care for them. Homelessness is more visible in some places than in others, but everywhere you can find people in need.
