MithLuin
Reminder that this Friday is fast day! (Or Phatmass Phasting on Phirst Phriday, if you want to play with the alliteration) I already had plans to go out to dinner with a friend, so I think I will aim for a modest breakfast and skipping lunch. I'm blessed to have a noon mass available that day where I work, so that will work nicely for me. Any particular intentions for the three rosaries? Fragments
Yay, I'm excited. Perhaps one rosary (seeing as it's our first) for the completion of the fast for all of us. Otherwise, I'm open to suggestions!
MithLuin
Okay, one rosary so that everyone will persevere and remain cheerful while fasting! (And for the special intentions of Phatmasssers)
Fragments
If no one else is going to chip in may I suggest one rosary for conversion, one for for the increasing love of God.
MithLuin
Welcome to the Phatmass Phirst Phriday Phast! Please use prudence in deciding how to limit your meals for the day. Fasting is not meant to cause health problems or distract you from your work! Drinking water is always recommended. Sometime throughout the day, please find some time for prayer. If you can attend mass or adoration, great! Ditto for participation in the Liturgy of the Hours, the prayer of the Church. But as something that is accessible to everyone, we'd like to request that you say three rosaries during your fast. One for all Phatmassers participating, that we may persevere and not give into natural weaknesses, remaining cheerful throughout our fast and sticking to what we set out to do. Two, for the conversion of souls, in our own families and communities, and in the world. Three, that we may all love God more and more, and see his peace in our lives and our world. And of course, for any other special intentions you may have today. Happy Phast Day, everyone! Edited September 3, 2010 by MithLuin
Fragments
Just thought I'd comment, I'm British so it's nearly 4pm here. My fast is going really well, I'm going to eat dinner tonight to break it. I've spent a half hour in church, half hour reading the cathechism and prayed one of the rosaries. Off to do the second now. I hope you are all having a good fast.

I can't fast from food, seeing as I have borderline low blood sugar and am breastfeeding, but I'm not having sweets (believe me, it's a sacrifice for me), and haven't been on the computer as much, instead praying and doing housework and taking the kids outside. I did make it to Mass this morning, so that was good.
dUSt
I'm literally addicted to caffeine, so had some coffee to avoid an all-day headache, but I'm getting by on just liquids and bread today. My wife might bring me lunch if she picks some up for herself, and if so, I'll skip dinner (and eat a little bread if I have to). No rosary yet, but about to start one now. Knowing others are doing the same helps with motivation!

I always find group fasting more beneficial, reminds me why I am doing it.
MithLuin
One rosary down, two to go! I surprised myself by making it through the day without breakfast (though noon mass certainly helps). I am going to go have a drink with coworkers to break the fast. Not sure that's in the spirit of fasting, but....I won't eat anything until dinner at

I broke my fast at 7pm too, with dinner. Twas a fun day for me at least.
