No Penance, No Absolve?

I just went to confession this morning and my penance was to be really nice to my parents for a week. Well, I got angry with them tonight and spoke in a harsh tone with them. Since I've not fulfilled my penance, does that mean I'm not absolved or can I just try harder tomorrow? I don't mean to be scrupulous or anything.

Good question. Don't worry about it - you're absolved, forgiven, wiped clean, "workin' at the car wash", to quote a bad (yet popular) song. Just try to do your penance as best you can. ;) Peace.

Pio Nono
