There are
Pius the first, fifth, and tenth groups.

Cool

Is Pius a discrete, or continuous variable? I was kinda wondering about a Society of Pius π.

I havent seen Societies of St. Pius I through IX, so I wouldn't know what's going on, anyway.

Slacker!!

Anyway, Groo, others here are quite right. Purchasing books and other materials is a dicey business. You can never be certain where many of the sacramentals and other items on the market were made. I mean, you might buy a bunch of inexpensive rosaries to distribute and find out they were made in China. Obviously not a source of government-sponsored orthodoxy. Your intention is what matters.

Problem # 1 is that now I don't know what to do about these books. They do not contain a single word schismatic or negative toward Vatican II or the Pope. They seem to be accurate and are much better written than similar books published by non-schismatic Catholic groups I have seen. My money went to the vendor, not the publisher or the SSPX directly. Should the books be returned next year, burned, or is there no problem?
You have nothing to worry about.

As has been stated above, even many FSSP churches use and sell books published by Angelus Press.

Problem #2 is I don't know now if they are accurate - do they depict the TLM in the old manner of celebration or in the modern manner approved by B16 (minor differences, but I have to know them). Are these still acceptable study materials given the source?
There are no differences between the "old manner" and the "modern manner." The 1962 Missal that may be licitly used by any Western Catholic priest today is exactly the same as the 1962 Missal used in 1962.

I also find it strange that so many people are uncomfortable buying materials sold by businesses associated with the SSPX. I know very few Catholics who would be uncomfortable buying an icon hand-painted at an Eastern Orthodox monastery provided that the icon was of a saint recognized by the Catholic Church.

You don't have to go to China. I've seen rosaries from Catholic stores in America which bear the familiar

"made in China" label.

Rexi, so few Orthodox represent themselves as being Catholic, though. While schismatic, the SSPX certainly did claim to be Catholic, and that duplicity is what makes people uncomfortable about them. Linking to an SSPX site was expressly and specifically forbidden on Phatmass, while linking to a Protestant site would have been perfectly acceptable. Because, whatever else the Protestants were claiming, they were unlikely to be claiming that they are Catholic ;).

Actually, the Eastern Orthodox Church claims to be the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, founded by Jesus Christ, which is the exact same thing that the Catholic Church believes herself to be.

Angelus Press is associated with the SSPX?????????

Why does that matter?

Have you ever bought a book from Barnes and Noble? They have lots of books much worse than those published by the SSPX. Barnes and Noble sells pro-atheist books by authors such as Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawking.

Perhaps you should burn your copy of The Scarlet Pimpernel published by Barnes and Noble Classics.
