YMNolan
Peter Kreeft's book "Angels (and Demons): What Do We Really Know About Them?" answers most if not all of these questions and is a really helpful and interesting resource on the subject. fides' Jack
One book I read that really helped me understand the nature of angels was "On Being and Essence" by St. Thomas Aquinas. It's really a very short read, and can take a few readings to actually understand it, but it's worth it. As for your questions, some have postulated that angels are both with God and with us; if Padre Pio had been able to bilocate, then surely an angel also could, and this would be easy to understand. But then, if Heaven is outside our understanding of time, then it comes down to the simple fact that we cannot completely understand how they work in this life. I think it's very possible that an angel could exist both in time, and outside of time, at the same time - if that makes any sense. As to the specific place that your angel is in - I'm sure he (masculine used so as to not have to use "it") doesn't sit on the bed, or stand next to you, as that would require a physical presence. I like what somebody already said - that an angel's power encompasses a place, and not vice-versa.
Mark of the Cross
I've posted this on another thread before, but I thought it may be interesting for this one. Is this my sisters or friends Guardian angel? The photo was taken around sixty years ago with a box brownie. It is unexplained by experts, so no corporeal suggestions please.
