goldenchild17
Here"s a video from Sprint to help you on your extremely hard decision
lol thanks. yeah I've seen pretty much every review/comparison video there is. Still like the evo better, but I'll probably wait until the are both available in store and go play with them each and see what I think.

ReinnieR
that's one thing I don't know much about. what's the diff between that and snapdragon?
Samsung made the A4 chip that you see on the iPad and the iPhone 4. Samsung's hummingbird processor is today's technology, i'd say the latest and greatest. snapdragon is yesterday. i can't say faster because they're both clocked at the same speed but it is snappier. average person probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference but the geeks seem to be able to tell.
you can play with a Samsung Vibrant on T-Mobile or hop over to AT&T and play with the Samsung Captivate which are Galaxy S phones. I've played with a vibrant what's really compelling about these Galaxy S phones is that Super AMOLED screen. I have not played with an EVO but seen them around the after seeing the Galaxy S screens out there the EVO screen is just meh. I love HTC don't get me wrong IMO the only thing that could compare to the Galaxy S screens is the iPhone 4's "retina display." although i would go with HTC's sense UI over Samsung's touchwiz, when it comes to these software skins. Evo > Epic when it comes to thickness obviously because the Epic has a keyboard Evo < Epic when it comes to it's display Evo > Epic when it comes to User Interface Evo < Epic when it comes to 720p video capture Evo > Epic when it comes to OS because you can upgrade the Evo to Froyo not yet on the Epic EVo < Epic when it comes to processor the Epic has a more modern processor Evo > Epic when it comes to GPS Samsung is still working on a fix on the Galaxy S devices' GPS EVo < Epic when it comes to screen size people seem to think that 4" sceens is the sweet spot 4.3" is too big for some. goldenchild17
yeah I don't know what I'll do yet. I like the evo because I'm not really a fan of any kind of slide phone's with hard keyboard. Just haven't had good luck with their durability and I like the way the evo looks better without it. But I don't know if I will be playing many games on the phone or not (chances are no, but the ability would be nice), and the epic is set up better for playing games. Though I've heard with the Evo one can root the phone and increase the limited 30 fps. So that would be helpful. Apparently the camera/video is a little bit better on the epic. I like the Evo's sense ui vs. Epic's touchwiz. But again, with custom rom's that may not be an issue (though I'm not sure how to flash a different rom etc. so I may still need to make this a consideration in which phone to get.)
I haven't played with them yet, but I will probably this weekend.
Evo > Epic when it comes to thickness obviously because the Epic has a keyboard
yes. And I'm not a fan of flipping open a phone to type on it all the time. Though the Epic has on-screen keyboard also, so not really an issue. Though I just like the way the Evo looks better, at this point. May be different when I see them together in person.
Evo < Epic when it comes to it's display
true. And it would be nice, though for all practical purposes, not sure if its that crucial to me. And not that this makes it any better, but I've heard that the Evo's maximum brightness is higher on Evo than the the Epic's (though minimum brightness is higher on epic). And that the Evo may be a touch better in direct sunlight, tough neither phone is much better than any other phone in this regard.
Evo > Epic when it comes to User Interface
yes Iike I mentioned, I like Sense UI much better. I don't know anything about flashing rom's and using different UI's on my phone, but apparently it can be done. Will I try to? I don't know, so this is something to consider.
Evo < Epic when it comes to 720p video capture
I heard this too. I haven't seen a good comparison video that shows a big enough difference between the two and don't know yet if it is a big consideration, but have heard this also.
Evo > Epic when it comes to OS because you can upgrade the Evo to Froyo not yet on the Epic
True, though I've heard it isn't that far off for the Epic. I don't always use this as a major consideration as the technology and ability is there (and apparently will be). It's what a phone has the capability to do and what it doesn't have the capability to do based on its hardware, that I have to think about.
EVo < Epic when it comes to processor the Epic has a more modern processor
yeah. I like that the Epic's is supposedly more energy efficient, and theoretically better on battery life because of this. And like that its better capable of handling intense processes like gaming. But not sure if I will use this enough to make it an important factor. I'm plenty happy just loading the SNES simulator and playing Mario
Evo > Epic when it comes to GPS Samsung is still working on a fix on the Galaxy S devices' GPS
This bothers me, though apparently a fix is on the way.
EVo < Epic when it comes to screen size people seem to think that 4" sceens is the sweet spot 4.3" is too big for some.
I've heard that, but I've also heard that people who use the Evo for a few weeks absolutely love it and have a hard time going back to any other phone because the other screens are just so tiny. So we'll see.
