"do You Like The Neutral/mellow Emo?"

I use the  face to indicate sarcasm or deadpan humour. In that sense I definitely see the 'negative' connotation, although I generally try to use it in the context of a joke.

I know you love it, so keep using it. Just remember that, whenever you do, I'll be tempted to suggest you eat more fiber.

I forgot, with Crohn's I shouldn't make intestinal jokes. I had IBS and that was bad enough.

Okay, whenever I see you use it, I will think of Queen Victoria saying, "We are not amused."

Fibre = bad. Jokes = good though. My family all loves to talk about my terminal ileum. ^_^

I just wanted to say that when I first read the title of this post, I read "Elmo" instead of "Emo" :elmo:

I use it when I would use a similar blank expression irl, which I would do even in a one-on-one conversation.

Me, too. It could mean any number of things when I use it. Context is key.

God the Father

I think it's kinda mysterious. With such a neutral expression, how can you possibly have the faintest idea what is happening in his brain. Such a face piques the curiosity and invites questioning while simultaneously intimidating one into silent enigmatic contemplation.

There aren't enough emoticons on pm to sufficiently represent my actual expressions.

Yes there are.
