Lounge Daddy
Feds to enforce fingerprint/ID registration 4 mortgage brokers? http://goo.gl/CvEQ
Government continues to clamp down on the economy, watching everything it seems. From gold to homes, the Federal State is keeping an eye on anything of value. This places a huge burden on the gold-sellers and the mortgage-lenders, who are being treated as if they are peddling weapons!
Of course the Market is a weapon, and the State is pretty scared of it. Funny thing is this ... 1 - The State is trying to more closely monitor Market activity. They wanna pay especially close attention to the trade of high-value goods (gold, silver, land, etc). But ... 2 - The State is actually incentivizing people who broker trade in high-value goods to trade off the "official market," so-to-speak. The government is creating more problems than they set out to fix ... again. And they are creating the tools of their own demise ... again. Unless, of course, the political class is trying to generate problems. I mean, you would almost think that they wanted the economy to become wildly unstable. CatherineM
Considering what a mess mortgage brokers made of the Tampa Bay market, I'm not surprised. At least that would weed out the fraudsters with criminal records.

Lounge Daddy
That's just it -- that's what happens. They shouldn't fingerprint anyone for entering a profession. And now the thugs in government are treating all private citizens like criminals.
CatherineM
They fingerprint attorneys to make sure they don't have criminal records. They fingerprint teachers to make sure they haven't been arrested for drugs or sex crimes. I don't have a problem with that. I also got fingerprinted twice to immigrate to Canada. The only thing that bothered me about that was they lost the first set.
Lounge Daddy
Why stop there? Fingerprint everyone. It's like the situation in NY where people are glad they are only being stopped and searched at random w/out cause, because gosh it could always be worse ... it's only a small inconvenience, and after all there bad guys around and it's for the good of public safety yada yada. And everyone forgets that: 1 - this shouldn't be happening in the first place. 2 - the biggest criminals are ones doing this. The US fought fascism, police states, and communism ... but we didn't notice that it all crept up right here in front of us.
Yeah that makes sense. These people already give up every ounce of privacy they once had, so fingerprinting is going to offend them.
