Inexpensive Or Free Scapulars?

Does anyone have a good source for inexpensive or free scapulars? I would like to give every child one in my program this year (about 200 students), but we don't have much money. I found a source for free rosaries, but not scapulars.

the thing about cheap scapulars (i've found) is that they don't stand the test of time. :( i usually get mine from Rose Scapular (i think?) but not sure of prices. sorry i can't help more.

Yeah, I would love to get high quality scapulars, but we just don't have the money for it.

just had a thought: are you planning on enrolling all of them into the scapular too?

Maybe try contacting some of the carmelites in your area.

I know Carmelite vocation directors if they are ever running a booth (Steubenville vocation day) always have free good scapulars for people.

I can't say anything about this site, as I haven't had a chance to thoroughly examine it. But apparently they give away free brown scapulars:

Of course, as it was mentioned, they aren't the best quality, but at least they're scapulars, and if the kids are interested, maybe it will inspire them to purchase another one themselves.

Carmelite nuns typically make scapulars, you could maybe send the mother superior an email and ask her if they nuns would be able to make how many scapulars for a base rate, i'm sure the nuns would be honored to do that!

I know in jr high our teacher got us free scapulars from the Poor Clares, so if you have any Poor Clares in your area, you could ask them, too.

Thanks for asking this because it brought up a question I've forgotten to ask.

I have seen scapulars for sale, but unlike a Rosary, it isn't enough to simply buy a scapular, right? Don't you have to be enrolled? How does that work?

Thanks!

It is not 'wrong' to wear one without enrolling, but I don't see why you wouldn't.

Somebody beat me to http://www.freebrownscapular.com/order_page.html (they ship in free packs up to 50). However, I believe that the Universal Living Rosary Association of St Philomena ships free packs.
